2 Chainz on Campus: It’s a Vibe.

Georgia-born and raised icon 2 Chainz will bring the heat to the Georgia Southern campus in Statesboro on Friday, April 26, and you could attend for free! For more information on how to enter to win two free 2 Chainz tickets, check out the Visit Statesboro Facebook page

Like so many other legendary rappers before him, 2 Chainz grew up in a small town just outside the booming Atlanta epicenter. His rap career began in his hometown of College Park, Georgia, where he rapped under the name Tity Boi and formed the group Playaz Circle with his childhood friend. The group earned recognition in the entertainment industry upon the release of their hit song, “Duffle Bag Boy” and was signed by Ludacris’ label before 2 Chainz decided to pursue a solo career.

From there, big names like Nicki Minaj and Drake took notice of him, leading him to sign a solo contract. His big break came when he was featured on the Kanye West single “Mercy,” and his career took off.

Not only does 2 Chainz upcoming performance in Statesboro symbolize a return to his roots in Georgia, but playing on the campus of a school like Georgia Southern is only fitting, as his hits are known and played by college students all across the US today. Songs like “No Lie,” “Birthday Song” and “It’s a Vibe” will be well received by all Georgia Southern students in the crowd (and, of course, some Statesboro locals as well).

Statesboro is excited to welcome such a star-studded performer and rapper to the area. Catching a chart-topping, Grammy Award winning artist like 2 Chainz in Statesboro isn’t easy to do, so make sure you have your tickets purchased in advance. Or, if winning is your thing, enter into the running for the chance to win some free ones from us here at Visit Statesboro by commenting the two 2 Chainz songs you’d love to hear live on our contest Facebook post by Wednesday, April 24th. A winner will be notified via instant message on Facebook/Instagram. And don’t forget—it’s gonna be a vibe!
