Saturday: 8/31/2024

Start the weekend on Saturday by cheering on the Eagles football team for their season kickoff at “Whose House? Our House!”, also known as Allen E Paulson Stadium if you aren’t familiar with Eagles lingo. Begin your morning right with a pregame brunch at Sugar Magnolia Bistro & Bar. Indulge in a decadent Breakfast Waffle Sandwich or a hearty plate of Challah French Toast. And make sure to order a signature hot or iced coffee to fuel up for game day!

The waffle is golden brown, drizzled with syrup, and accompanied by a dollop of whipped cream. A glass of orange juice and a bottle of what seems to be champagne are partially visible in the background.

Head on over to Allen E Paulson Stadium early for Eagle Walk- a Georgia Southern tradition where fans cheer on the team on their walk from the bus to the stadium. Then, treat yourself to a hotdog or burger as you tailgate and ramp up the energy before the game. Kickoff is at 4:00 PM so make sure you find your seat and settle in so you don’t miss a second of the action and excitement as Georgia Southern takes on Boise State.

GSU football team charges onto the field through a cloud of smoke, beneath a banner displaying the team's eagle logo and the word "GATA." Players wear navy blue uniforms, and flags are being waved in the background. The scene is vibrant, with a packed stadium of fans cheering them on.

After the game, celebrate the win with drinks at Gnat’s Landing. Sip on a refreshing beverage and take in the atmosphere of a hyped up Eagle Nation. Gnat’s Landing is the perfect place to celebrate and unwind after a win as you mingle with fellow Eagles fans and Statesboro locals.

Statesboro has just the thing for a great Sunday Funday. Energize with a hearty Southern breakfast from D’s Friendly Diner as you prepare for a day filled with excitement and enthusiasm at not one but two soccer games!

After breakfast, head on over to Eagle Field at Russell Athletic Park to watch the GSU Women’s soccer team take on Furman at 1:00 PM. After a fast-paced match, swing by Tandoor and Tap to savor the authentic flavors of Indian food. Treat yourself to a happy hour special or ask your server what’s on tap!

Finally, head over to the Tormenta Stadium for a second round of thrilling soccer as Tormenta FC takes on One Knoxville SC! The game starts at 7:30PM, so you’ll have plenty of time to eat, have a drink, and unwind before watching the second game of the day.
